Mommy/Daughter Day

I love doing things with my daughter! At the last wedding fair we participated in for my little Villa my daughter volunteered to model for a local Amador County bridal couture store at future shows. Sunday was the first.

The original thought was that she could model “mother of the bride” dresses since she is in her early 40’s – and not a 20-something youngin’ modeling bridal gowns.  She went for fittings a week ago and the store owner decided she looked too young to do that so chose some beautiful gowns appropriate for the “more mature” bride.  Here’s a couple of photos of her – along with an adorable 20-year old red-haired young thing.

The models walked around the floor of the wedding fair in some of the dresses before and after the fashion show – these two walked around together and were turning heads.  And lots of comments about a “mother/daughter” photo shoot … how fun would that have been?

Maybe next time I’LL volunteer to do “mother of the bride” dresses … does that fall under reinventing and stepping outside our box?  Me thinks so!

A fun day – being a dresser helping the models in and out of dresses in 5 minutes … glad I went!
